Rockhounding Safety

March 21st, 2009 by admin

When you are collecting specimens in the field, be careful not to leave sharp chippings from where you hammered out a pit of a specimen. Some rocks are very sharp such as obsidian, and it’s like spreading little tacks all over. Be a good rockhound and get rid of the sharp bits from out in the open where people and animals can walk on them.
